As our Commercial & Medical Affairs division undergoes rapid global expansion, we are seeking a Marketing Director, Global Markets to spearhead a commercially-driven strategy across Europe and the US.
This London-based leadership role is pivotal in shaping how we engage the global medical community and partner with the world’s leading pharmaceutical and life sciences organizations.
The Role: Global Vision, Clinical Impact
As the Marketing Director, you will bridge the gap between high-level commercial strategy and impactful HCP engagement. You won't just be "running campaigns"; you will be positioning Medscape as the primary bridge between clinical innovation and the physicians who provide patient care.
Strategic Leadership & Stakeholder Influence
- Set the Global Agenda: Define the marketing roadmap for our Commercial and Medical Affairs business, ensuring our value proposition resonates with both Pharma Brand Teams and Medical Affairs leaders.
- High-Level Collaboration: Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership in Sales and Medical Affairs, ensuring marketing initiatives align with the complex regulatory and commercial requirements of the life sciences industry.
- Industry Presence: Own Medscape Education’s presence at major International Medical Congresses (e.g., ASCO, ESMO, EHA), overseeing everything from strategic positioning to on-site execution.
Innovation & Digital Excellence
- Modernize HCP Engagement: Drive the adoption of advanced MarTech and AI to personalize the HCP journey, ensuring our medical education and promotional content reaches the right specialist at the right time.
- Demonstrate ROI: Develop sophisticated attribution models to prove the impact of Medscape’s programs on physician behavior and commercial outcomes.
People & Team Development
- Global Mentorship: Lead and scale a high-performing, multi-regional marketing team across Europe and the US, fostering a culture of excellence in B2B healthcare marketing.
What You’ll Need
We are looking for a candidate who speaks the language of Pharma and understands the intricacies of the healthcare ecosystem.
- Industry Expertise: 10+ years of senior marketing experience specifically within Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, Medical Devices, or Medical Education.
- Stakeholder Knowledge: A deep understanding of the Medical Affairs function and how it differs from traditional commercial/sales outreach.
- B2B Healthcare Track Record: Proven success in navigating the long sales cycles and regulatory complexities (ABPI, EFPIA, etc.) inherent in life sciences marketing.
- Strategic Leadership: Experience managing cross-border teams and high-stakes budgets, with a "player-coach" mentality.
- Agency or Industry Background: Significant experience within a top-tier Medical Communications agency or an in-house global pharma marketing role is essential.
